Films and TV: The Tourist

Standard

The Tourist Film PosterI recently re-watched The Tourist and I’ve come to the conclusion that I absolutely love the film. Firstly, the cast is amazing: Johnny Depp, Angelina Jolie, Timothy Dalton and Paul Bettany are all people I absolutely love. Having Johnny and Angelina cast against each other was also another suave idea as they both are incredible at their jobs and were able to portray the appropriate type of chemistry between each other for their characters and the storyline and it is this mixed with their shared passion that made the two accurately complement each other.

The film is pretty simple in the way it’s portrayed. Yes, it has action scenes, but these aren’t the main focus and are only spotlighted throughout. This was very skilfully done in ensuring the classic romanticism was achieved to further the story. The Tourist has such an intriguing concept in this way and that’s why it can be loved so much and become ever more exciting despite its seemingly simple surface.

In addition, the film’s costumes and make-up were superbly done, Angelina looked stunning throughout and even Johnny’s normal film make-up was done noticeably well.

I truly recommend 2010’s film The Tourist to anyone who still hasn’t seen it because it really is an exciting feel good romance movie.
