Let’s talk beauty…
Recently I was gifted the beautiful Elizabeth Arden’s All Day Chic make-up set and I figured since I’m enjoying it so much I should recommend some of the products here.
What comes in the set is; four lipsticks, two lip glosses, two eyeshadow and powder palettes, a mascara, two lip pencils, two eye pencils, two brushes, a make-up remover and of course the bag it all came in.
The lipsticks come in the colours Desert Rose, a light shimmering pink colour, Breathless, a plumier coloured pink, Ultra Violet, a deep purple colour, as the name suggests and Red Door Red, a wonderful blue toned red. I haven’t yet used these all too much to suggest their staying power and moisturising/drying effects but they certainly go on well and have rich colours.
The lip glosses come in the colours Passion Fruit, a shimmering hot pink with a plum undertone, and Precious Petal, a shimmering peach tone. These are thick lip glosses and will stay on a while. They feel moisturising rather than drying, however, they are more of a sticky consistency, as many lip glosses are, so if you’re not a fan of that texture these won’t be for you.
The lip pencils are in two brown toned colours, Bare (a clay colour) and Sugared Kiss (a red based brown). These I haven’t used these on my lips since I don’t get on well with lip pencils but oddly, I mistook one for a brown eyeliner and used it on my lids. It was a great base for an eye shadow of a similar colour and kept on my lid all day. The eye pencils also have great deep colours in Gun metal and Smokey Black especially for people like me who like their black eyeliner.
Next is the mascara, which I have totally fallen in love with, it extends the length of your lashes amazingly and, when accompanied by the Smokey Black eyeliner, looks incredible.
The two eyeshadow/powder palettes include a range of colours and you can see from the pictures in this post exactly what is included in each one. The two palettes each contain 8 eye shadows, a blush and a shimmer powder. These include really great everyday colours suitable for everyone’s personal preferences and include colours suitable for contouring, blush, highlights and obviously eye shadow. However, these colours are very sheer and are not very pigmented. My particular favourite of the two palettes is the Nude Shimmer powder (from the gold palette) which I think is a beautiful colour and can be used as a highlighter.
Lastly, the set includes a round head brush and an angled brush for applying your makeup and a make-up remover (All Gone Eye and Lip Makeup Remover). These are all super good quality and work effectively.
If you want to look at the make-up set yourself and possibly gift another with it, you can see it here.
Ps. The second image above is one that I shot and edited. It was edited so that the background of my room in the mirror couldn’t be seen.
