Today I am recommending the rock band Young Guns since I have recently gotten into their music and absolutely love them.
Technically, I found this band a long while ago as I had listened to a single of theirs on repeat – this was Learn My Lesson. I hadn’t thought much more of them though until a friend of mine reintroduced me to them with the song Bones, which is brilliant! The video is pretty cool too.
As a fan of pop-punk and alternative music, I was bound to love Young Guns as their style of rock really fits into this. The vocalist has a great voice and the rest of the band make the songs sound incredible.
Check out the few videos below as a taste of their music:

Queen and Adam Lambert. Together. Spectacular.
A couple of weeks ago I recommended the American musician Adam Lambert and I mentioned his performance with Queen on BBC One for New Year’s Eve. I figured the pairing needed a recommendation of their own.
Since the death of Queen’s front-man Freddie Mercury, the band has been performing with various other artists filling the vocalist position but, in my opinion, no person has been more fitting for the role than Adam Lambert. The group as a whole work so well and there are significant similarities between Adam and the great Freddie Mercury, such as their incredible vocal talents and their wardrobe and make-up choices.
Over the past year, Queen and Adam Lambert have been touring around the country and if these concerts have been anything like the one I watched on BBC One, there are literally no words for the incredible pairing the two make. Adam was also praised significantly by the media and fans alike.
Queen is still as amazing as ever, Bryan May still kills it on the guitar and Roger Meddows Taylor still brings it on the drums. The relationship between the two of them and Adam is so heart-warming to watch.
Everything just seems to fit to create an amazing show. Here are some clips from the concert:

My newest music obsession is Adam Lambert. I’m not entirely sure how I came to know about him, but for a very long time I have been listening to odd songs of his and loving them.
Adam Lambert is an american singer who rose to fame after becoming a runner-up in the 2009 series of American Idol. Since then he has been growing in popularity, not least of which was helped by his performances with Queen, as elaborated on below.
I received Adam’s album Trespassing for Christmas after it being on my wishlist for the last couple of years since it’s realise in 2012. I have been listening to it non-stop. But not only this… my recent obsession started after watching a certain concert of his on BBC One on New Year’s Eve. In this concert, Adam was performing as the front-man for Queen.
Adam’s performance in this concert was amazing. The group as a whole worked so well and there are significant similarities between Adam and the greatly-missed, deceased, former front-man Freddie Mercury, one of which is their incredible vocal talents. Adam wowed the British public and the media, following his performances, were singing his praises. Over the past year, Queen and Adam Lambert have been touring around the country and are performing more shows at the end of January.
I think it’s time for me to provide you with some evidence so here are some videos with his music:

Ps. I won’t be posting for the next two weeks as I will be concentrating on coursework and exams. I apologise for the disruption and I’ll see you on the 26th of January!
This week’s music recommendation is the American/UK boy band Hollywood Ending. I found this band about two months ago as they supported McBusted on their arena tour around the UK. Out of the three support bands, Hollywood Ending was definitely the one that stood out. They have two albums already and are currently working on their third. Their songs are incredible and I absolutely love all of them, this isn’t a word of a lie, I honestly love all of their songs.
I’m now going to quote their website, as it probably sounds better than anything I could write about them, and it just tells you more about who they are and what they do: ‘Hollywood Ending is a pop-rock band formed in Summer 2011. The band consists of Tyler Wilson (Lead Vocals), Cameron Byrd (Lead Vocals/Guitar/Piano), Dan Geraghty (Vocals/Lead Guitar), and Chris Bourne (Vocals/Bass), all 18-21 years old. Hailing from all different parts of America and even the U.K., these boys met on Skype and came together with a shared dream of becoming big in the music industry. They got their start on Season 4 of Radio Disney’s Next Big Thing competition finishing in 3rd place. Since then they have appeared on many tours in the United States, Canada, and Europe opening for artists like The Janoskians, Austin Mahone, R5, Allstar Weekend, and many more. In Summer of 2012 they did their first headlining tour selling out shows across the US and Canada.’
They have a sound similar to McFly and Busted but with a mixture of more modern bands such as The Vamps and 5 Seconds of Summer. This to me just spells brilliance as these four bands are some of my favourites, McFly and Busted being my absolute favourite bands, so it was always likely that Hollywood Ending would be amazing. I really hope that big things come their way, as they certainly deserve it! Check ‘em out!
An example of their music is below:
P.S. Chris Bourne, Hollywood Ending’s bass guitarist, is the brother of James Bourne, a third of Busted and a sixth of the supergroup McBusted.
