I have a confession… I had never watched any of the Star Wars films until the latter end of December 2015. But… I have managed to watch them through, enjoy them, and force my Dad to take me to the cinema to see the newest in the series: The Force Awakens, which I am recommending now.
However, I will struggle to recommend this film because any Star Wars fan is going to see it and by now has and, those who don’t care aren’t going to have their opinion changed by the 7th film in a series, or by my blog post alone. But I do urge anyone who hasn’t watched any of the films, to go ahead and try them. I used to be like you; uninterested and not bothered… but it will be worth it.
Nows the hard part: trying to rave about the film without spoiling it. Characters – I love the characters: new and, most definitely, old! I think the combination was great. The way and when they introduced these characters was perfect, especially for Luke. I thought that scene was breathtaking and emotional (SPOILER – A great way to end the film, and set us up for the next one). I also love the introduction of the adorable BB-8 droid.
The cast is incredible and includes great names: Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, and Anthony Daniels.
I’ll finish by adding the IMDB synopsis: ‘30 years after the defeat of Darth Vader and the Empire, Rey, a scavenger from the planet Jakku, finds a BB-8 droid that knows the whereabouts of the long lost Luke Skywalker. Rey, as well as a rogue stormtrooper and two smugglers, are thrown into the middle of a battle between the resistance and the daunting legions of the First Order’.
I can’t wait for the next two films!

Fleur DeForce on YouTube is becoming a regular recommendation on my channel. This time is because of her wonderful Christmas videos, mainly gift guides, which I love to see every year. Since I’m not able to make my own gift guides on my blog this year, which were largely influenced by Fleur’s videos last year anyway, I thought I’d leave you with her wonderful (and recent) videos.
This is a slightly different, and shorter, recommendation today, but I want to talk about FunkoPop! Figures.
Funko is an American company which was founded in 1998 to make pop-culture toys. They make a huge range of varying figures of many different characters from pop-culture over the years such as Ghostbusters, Batman comics, The Walking Dead, Zelda, Ace Ventura, Game of Thrones, Star Wars, Chucky, Elvis, Doctor Who, Back to the Future, Toy Story, The Nightmare Before Christmas and Monsters Inc.… There are so many from all sorts of TV shows, games, films and even some celebrities.
I’ve been interested in these figures for a little while now ever since I’ve seen them featured in many YouTubers’ videos and also at my local HMV store. The reason why I’ve been looking on the internet for them recently is because I’m hoping to finally buy one of these figures for my birthday, as a small treat to myself I suppose.
Some of the ones I want are: Groot (From Guardians of the Galaxy), Robin (Batman and Robin), Bernadette (The Big Bang Theory), Jack Burton (Big Trouble in Little China), Buffy (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Pooh (Winnie the Pooh) and Elsa (Frozen). During writing this post, I have even found a range of Johnny Depp characters that I would also like such as Captain Jack (Pirates of the Caribbean) and Edward Scissorhands.
Places where I have found to buy them online are: www.forbiddenplanet.com, www.amazon.co.uk/www.amazon.com and of course, http://funko.com/.
