Today’s Music Recommendation is Matt Willis’ Solo Album, Don’t Let It Go to Waste. Most people, I’m sure, know who Matt is but in case you don’t he is a British musician and songwriter, TV presenter and actor. He is one third of the now split band Busted and one sixth of the newly formed supergroup McBusted. Following the Busted split Matt released his debut solo album which had three top 20 singles. In 2006, following this release, he won I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! In 2011 Matt starred as Fiyero in the West End hit musical Wicked! Following this in 2013, he appeared in The West End Men alongside Lee Mead. Matt Willis, as well as working with the McFly and Busted boys, has a role in UK soap EastEnders as Luke Riley. In January Matt played the role of Garth Stubbs in Birds of a Feather.
Matt Willis’ solo career was short-lived as he soon realised he much preferred creating albums and music in a band. Never the less, Matt managed to create a wonderful pop-punk album. I listen to this album a lot because it’s got a similar sound to Busted but is mixed with a harder, edgier tone which just sounds so good. My favourite songs are Fade out and Ex-Girlfriend although I do absolutely the entire album.

Today’s music recommendation is going to be Jesus Christ Superstar. This is because I like a lot of musicals and I always name Phantom of the Opera as my favourite for its atmosphere, it’s drama and the phantom himself and I absolutely love it’s music but I don’t necessarily love all the songs… so I’ve had to re-evaluate which is my favourite and I think Jesus Christ Superstar deserves the top spot in my musical loving heart. I love all of the music in Jesus Christ Superstar and I always sing along and I know all the words. The music tends to be my go to play on Spotify and I think it’s just crafted magnificently, not that Phantom isn’t, both Phantom of the Opera and Jesus Christ Superstar have brilliantly composed music and that’s thanks to the genius that is Andrew Lloyd Webber.
So I guess this post has become me raving about both musicals. Now I’ve had the pleasure to watch Phantom of the Opera in London at the West End and it was fantastic. I’ve also fallen in love with the 2013 arena tour version of Jesus Christ Superstar that we have on DVD. It is because of the incredible music that they’ve hooked me so well.
Before the rambling continues… Here’s a song from both shows:
If ever you have the chance to see either show, grab it!

I want to recommend Skinology Cleansers. This is because I’ve found them to be very helpful in keeping away my breakouts and for generally cleaning my face. The difficulty in recommending things like this is that everyone’s skin is completely different and completely unique so these products may not work for everyone and may even make someone’s acne or spot related issue worse.
What do I use?
- Skinology Tea Tree Blackhead Cleanser ‘bye-bye blackheads and don’t come back. No one likes you!’
- Skinology Cleansing Lotion ‘our carefully balanced formula helps you on your way to cleaner, clearer skin.’
I’ve been using these products for a while, but I had a period of bad break outs so I stopped using most of my skin products. Only recently have I started using these on a regular basis, without any of the other products I had previously, so I know that for me, these work. They help keep spots away and they’ve helped clear up the spots I have had quickly. The Blackhead Cleanser especially helps with dirt and grease. I feel like I have much cleaner and clearer skin.
Hopefully these products will be able to help you too!
This week’s music recommendation is the American/UK boy band Hollywood Ending. I found this band about two months ago as they supported McBusted on their arena tour around the UK. Out of the three support bands, Hollywood Ending was definitely the one that stood out. They have two albums already and are currently working on their third. Their songs are incredible and I absolutely love all of them, this isn’t a word of a lie, I honestly love all of their songs.
I’m now going to quote their website, as it probably sounds better than anything I could write about them, and it just tells you more about who they are and what they do: ‘Hollywood Ending is a pop-rock band formed in Summer 2011. The band consists of Tyler Wilson (Lead Vocals), Cameron Byrd (Lead Vocals/Guitar/Piano), Dan Geraghty (Vocals/Lead Guitar), and Chris Bourne (Vocals/Bass), all 18-21 years old. Hailing from all different parts of America and even the U.K., these boys met on Skype and came together with a shared dream of becoming big in the music industry. They got their start on Season 4 of Radio Disney’s Next Big Thing competition finishing in 3rd place. Since then they have appeared on many tours in the United States, Canada, and Europe opening for artists like The Janoskians, Austin Mahone, R5, Allstar Weekend, and many more. In Summer of 2012 they did their first headlining tour selling out shows across the US and Canada.’
They have a sound similar to McFly and Busted but with a mixture of more modern bands such as The Vamps and 5 Seconds of Summer. This to me just spells brilliance as these four bands are some of my favourites, McFly and Busted being my absolute favourite bands, so it was always likely that Hollywood Ending would be amazing. I really hope that big things come their way, as they certainly deserve it! Check ‘em out!
An example of their music is below:
P.S. Chris Bourne, Hollywood Ending’s bass guitarist, is the brother of James Bourne, a third of Busted and a sixth of the supergroup McBusted.

Let’s talk about something hair related…
Today I want to recommend Bristow’s Shine Gloss Booster. This product basically gives your hair a much shinier look as soon as you use it. The product works as a spray, you can use as much or as little as you like. I tend to use this on wet or dry hair by just spraying on the top and underneath of my hair, I then take a brush or a comb and work the product through my hair and leave it to dry. As soon as it is dry there are noticeable results. My friends and my family have noticed my shinier hair when I use the shine spray and I know it gives my hair a much healthier and alive appearance. It also helps tame frizz and leaves the hair super soft and what makes it even better is that I found this in Poundland, so it only cost me a pound! A pound for such a renowned brand and a great product = perfect.
A new Monday, a new Beauty and skincare item, a new recommendation. So… today’s recommendation is Wilko’s Tangy Rhubarb Shower Crème. This pink body wash works well, firstly doing its purpose: cleaning, but also in moisturising the skin and making you smell of wonderful rhubarb. Perhaps for an acquired taste; I think this product is luxurious and smells good enough to eat, really folks, it smells like those Haribo Rhubarb Stars. Delicious. In addition, it was a super cheap purchase. It costs less than a £1 normally and when I got it, it was on sale meaning it only cost me 50p for a whole 250ml bottle.
