YouTube: Top 5 Vloggers

Standard

I don’t know whether you have gathered this but I really enjoy YouTube videos and especially those by vloggers. On this topic I wanted to share my TOP 5 Daily Vloggers.

  1. Fleur DeForce (Second Channel: FleurDeVlog)

Fleur daily vlogs every other month and I really enjoy her videos. I love seeing her family, her husband and her doggies as well as her trips abroad and behind-the-scenes youtube stuff.

  1. Jim Chapman (Second Channel: EveryDayJim)

Jim posts daily vlogs every week day on his vlog channel. I love seeing his life with Tanya, their new house and Jim’s adventures in London whether that’s for a fashion event, going to a film premiere, returning a pair of shoes for Tanya or even going to the gym.

  1. Michael Aranda (Second Channel: WhatImDoingRightNow)

Daily vlogs with lots of stats. Michael particularly enjoys his statistics and starts every vlog with a caption in the corner about the weather in Missoula, Montana and stats about his eating out habits and his weight. In his vlogs we see drone footage, his car travels, food explorations and non-too regular gym trips. At the moment, his videos see him juggling work, school (college) and his relationships.

  1. Jonah Penna

Posting a weekly vlog, Sarah, new mother of one, documents her daily life juggling work, being a mother and being a wife. The channel is named after her son and if you recognise the name Penna, you may well know another YouTube personality MysteryGuitarMan, who just so happens to be Sarah’s husband.

  1. JLynn Johnston (Second Channel: JLynnCognito)

Although he only daily vlogs once a year during VEDA, his content during that time is really fun to watch. JLynn posts a one-take vlog every day updating people on the events of that day or talking about a certain topic.

YouTube: Ingrid Nilsen

Standard

Today I’m recommending Ingrid Nilsen. If you’re eagle eyed or have been paying attention to my blog for long enough, you’ll know that I have actually recommended her YouTube channel, Miss Glamorazzi, before but since then she has updated her second channel and uses that on a regular basis too. Therefore, I’m revisiting my previous recommendation (which you can find here) and adding to it.

Just as a brief explanat71ik6kFvion if you don’t know who Ingrid Nilsen is. She is a beauty guru on YouTube who, on her main channel, posts videos about beauty, make-up and fashion and on her second channel, which I am recommending most today, she posts vlog-style videos.

On her second channel, TheGridMonster, Ingrid tended to post vlogs of all varieties, sometimes sit-down, sometimes follow-me-around daily vlogs, in the past. Not to say that this has stopped but rather the channel has undergone some renovation, let’s say. The channel is now regularly used for the uploads of a weekly series called 5 Minutes For Us. I think it’s such a great series and really talks about issues and topics in a very mature and real way. These videos are just so honest and I love that every episode is different and tackles different types of issues and so forth.

Here are a couple examples:

I want to mention this because I think it’s important: Ingrid stormed the internet with her inspiring coming out video. Not only has Ingrid become one of the first popular female and first Beauty Guru (as far as I know) to come out, she has also provided a video with a strong message, a message that everyone should have their best chance in life and just be them. Be proud to be you. Don’t apologise for being you. It doesn’t matter, like REALLY doesn’t matter, what your sexual orientation is, full stop, but it also doesn’t matter what your orientation is for you to find the video encouraging and for the message to be relevant. To see for yourself, the video is below:

Thank you,

YouTube: SORTED Food

Standard

The_Crew_and_SORTED_productsToday’s recommendation is the SORTED Food YouTube channel. If you want to learn how to cook or relax to the voices of four Englishmen then this is the place to be.

Sorted Food consists of four best friends, Barry, Jamie, Mike and Ben.  The channel began because Ben knew how to cook, the others didn’t, and so Ben set out to teach the others how to cook.  Now the four work together to host and present one of the coolest cooking channels out there.

Not only do they do recipes and other cooking videos, these guys do TAG videos and vlogs with all of their content surrounding food. I genuinely think that this channel is one of the most exciting cooking channels on the internet but if you don’t believe me, go check them out:

Food: Doug’s Microwave Cake

Standard

Is this a food recommendation? Or is this a YouTuber recommendation? I think it’ll be both because I want to recommend a wonderful microwave cake recipe, but it’s not mine. I learnt it from Doug Armstrong, a vlogger on YouTube.

Making cakes by using a microwave is not a new invention, but it’s becoming seemingly more popular. Or at least in my opinion it is. Microwave cakes are easier on ingredients, on time and on the portion sizes. You can make a single cake and not have the others lying around to tempt you when you’re feeling peckish.Brownie

The recipe is…

  • 2 tablespoons of melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons of water
  • ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons of plain flour
  • 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, although Caster Sugar can be used instead.

And mix and microwave for approximately 1 minute. This timing may be different for different models and wattages. For 800w, which is what my microwave is, I usually have to microwave the mixture for 1 minute or 1 minute and 10 seconds.

To see this recipe in action, you should visit Doug’s channel and watch the video I’ll add below. You should also subscribe to his channel if you want more delectable treats especially cheesecakes, as these are his favourite. But he doesn’t just bake and make food on his channel, he also does challenges, vlogs, collabs and most popular are his life hacks videos.

Here is his channel ‘about’ blurb: ‘Hey I’m Doug Armstrong, a British vlogger living in London. I like to make fun-filled, creative videos with varying themes inspired by my love for entertainment, food/cooking and music. From Life Hacks and Bacon Pancakes to One Direction parodies and funny challenges, you’ll find a wide array of content centred around my life and I have grand plans this year for bigger & better videos than ever before! Oh and I love cheesecake a lot 😀 Join our community and become a Dougling by clicking the red ‘Subscribe’ button above 🙂 http://Youtube.com/Doug’.

Youtube: Sonia’s Travels

Standard

headshotSoniastravels is Sonia Gil’s YouTube channel. She updates weekly with travel tips like what equipment you should buy to travel with such as bags and suitcases, to take when you travel such as outfits and shoes or electronic goods. But if it’s not a tip video, it’ll be a video recommending a country or a city or just Sonia taking you around and showing you the things you can do in that place.

I’ve found these videos interesting and well, informative.  It’s definitely made me want to travel to more places and has told me a lot about the different cultures across the world.

Sonia’s about page says this; ‘Travel around the globe with Sonia Gil! From Milan to Miami, Sonia cracks the secret codes of the world’s coolest cities in this award-winning series. Learn new travel tips and tricks, and share your own, in Sonia’s vlog. New shows every Thursday!’

Now for some examples:

YouTube: Miss Glamorazzi

Standard

IngridToday I want to recommend MissGlamorazzi. Ingrid Nilsen is a make-up guru and vlogger on YouTube. Like many of the YouTubers I’ve recommended she’s been on the website sharing her videos since the very early years. This is her channel’s ‘blurb’; ‘Oh, hello! I’m Ingrid Nilsen and welcome to my little internet oasis! Get ready for beauty, fashion and healthy food how-to’s with a sprinkle of weird. The good kind of weird. I pinky promise!’ She also has a DIY series that she has called GIY – Glam it yourself. These are super unique and cute How to’s. I’ll have a couple as examples below.

Ingrid is a beautiful human being both inside and out. She is honestly the most down to earth and kind person I’ll ever have the pleasure of knowing and therefore you should visit her channel because she’ll most definitely brighten your day. She also recently won a Streamy Award and blew everyone away with her inspiring speech!

Again I’m keeping this brief so that I can give you a lot of examples of her videos instead, enjoy!
