Today I’m recommending my top 5 YouTubers who are taking part in Vlogmas this Christmas Season. If you’re unfamiliar Vlogmas is a Vlogging Everyday tradition starting on December 1st and ending on December 24th, Christmas Eve. I will leave you with day one of each YouTuber’s Vlogmas to give you a taste of their content.
Number 1 – Catrific
Number 2 – TalkBeckyTalk
Number 3 – Jenna Ezarik
Number 4 – Chyaz Vlogs
Number 5 – Tanya Burr (and Jim Chapman)
Tanya’s husband Jim, while not doing Vlogmas this year, vlogs every weekday anyway so it is worth adding him in here too. Click on his name to check out his vlogging channel!
Today I’m recommending Ingrid Nilsen. If you’re eagle eyed or have been paying attention to my blog for long enough, you’ll know that I have actually recommended her YouTube channel, Miss Glamorazzi, before but since then she has updated her second channel and uses that on a regular basis too. Therefore, I’m revisiting my previous recommendation (which you can find here) and adding to it.
Just as a brief explanation if you don’t know who Ingrid Nilsen is. She is a beauty guru on YouTube who, on her main channel, posts videos about beauty, make-up and fashion and on her second channel, which I am recommending most today, she posts vlog-style videos.
On her second channel, TheGridMonster, Ingrid tended to post vlogs of all varieties, sometimes sit-down, sometimes follow-me-around daily vlogs, in the past. Not to say that this has stopped but rather the channel has undergone some renovation, let’s say. The channel is now regularly used for the uploads of a weekly series called 5 Minutes For Us. I think it’s such a great series and really talks about issues and topics in a very mature and real way. These videos are just so honest and I love that every episode is different and tackles different types of issues and so forth.
Here are a couple examples:
I want to mention this because I think it’s important: Ingrid stormed the internet with her inspiring coming out video. Not only has Ingrid become one of the first popular female and first Beauty Guru (as far as I know) to come out, she has also provided a video with a strong message, a message that everyone should have their best chance in life and just be them. Be proud to be you. Don’t apologise for being you. It doesn’t matter, like REALLY doesn’t matter, what your sexual orientation is, full stop, but it also doesn’t matter what your orientation is for you to find the video encouraging and for the message to be relevant. To see for yourself, the video is below:
Today’s recommendation is the SORTED Food YouTube channel. If you want to learn how to cook or relax to the voices of four Englishmen then this is the place to be.
Sorted Food consists of four best friends, Barry, Jamie, Mike and Ben. The channel began because Ben knew how to cook, the others didn’t, and so Ben set out to teach the others how to cook. Now the four work together to host and present one of the coolest cooking channels out there.
Not only do they do recipes and other cooking videos, these guys do TAG videos and vlogs with all of their content surrounding food. I genuinely think that this channel is one of the most exciting cooking channels on the internet but if you don’t believe me, go check them out:
It’s Christmas time, there’s no denying that and typically in the run up to the big day, many YouTubers take part in an event called Vlogmas. This means that they take the pledge to vlog daily until the 25th of December. I love watching these videos because it increases my own excitement and allows me to see Christmas in different places such as New York, London and Los Angeles. In this blog post, I want to recommend ten channels, with their first vlogmas video to get you equally excited for the special day.

Job Hunters is a web series created by YouTuber Kristina Horner. The concept of the show is that in the near future there is a job crisis. MAEWIN is an organisation trying to control the job situation. People must kill each other every day in the ARENA. They stay at the MAEWIN mansion while they survive, waiting for a job offer.
The series became increasingly popular in its first season, and now it’s surviving into its second.
The channel’s ‘about’ section has this description of the show: ‘Welcome to MAEWIN. The Mandatory Arena Education Worldwide Initiative. It’s not who you know… but how you kill. Job Hunters is a dystopian comedy web series set in the near future about a world in which college graduates are sent to report to MAEWIN – a program designed to match recruits with jobs based on their ability to fight their peers in an arena from 9-5 each day. These recruits then spend their time off living together in government sanctioned safe houses. If you like other web series such The Guild, Husbands, The Lizzie Bennett Diaries or Doctor Horrible’s Sing Along Blog, you’ll love Job Hunters’.
I enjoy the series a lot; it has such a great team in front of and behind the camera. They really care about the show they’re making, with their limited resources, and it really shows through. I totally recommend this web series. It’s original. It’s interesting. The concept is great. And I love it.
Fleur de Force is a beauty guru and vlogger on the popular video sharing platform we like to call YouTube. She currently has four channels, one of which she works on with her Husband, Mike, in connection with Sainsbury’s (a UK supermarket).
So, her main channel, Fleur DeForce, is where Fleur posts videos on beauty, fashion, make-up and any interesting projects she’s working on. Only recently has she posted a video on there about her trip to Zambia with Comic Relief.
Her second channel is her vlog channel, FleurDeVlog. Fleur doesn’t vlog daily, but she often posts videos on things she’s doing, events she’s been to, showing us her holidays and most importantly spending time with her three pups, two cats and wonderful husband.
The third channel, Bride De Force, is one she started with her sister in the run up to her wedding. Fleur decided to share her wedding preparations on a separate channel so that people who didn’t want to see it on her main channel didn’t have to. She also wanted to be able to help other people, give them inspiration and provide informative details about different companies, techniques and ideas.
The final channel is her cooking channel, which as I said previously, is connected to Sainsbury’s who (I assume) sponsor the videos. These cooking videos are so unlike most cooking shows. This is because it is Fleur and Mike, husband and wife, in the kitchen together doing equal jobs and trying something new. Quite often something goes wrong but they’re not afraid to show that and try again. It’s so informal and relaxed and it’s a pleasure to watch even if you don’t care for food in the slightest.
Please check out these wonderful channels. I honestly love Fleur (and Mike) so much and I’m subscribed to ALL of these channels.
Soniastravels is Sonia Gil’s YouTube channel. She updates weekly with travel tips like what equipment you should buy to travel with such as bags and suitcases, to take when you travel such as outfits and shoes or electronic goods. But if it’s not a tip video, it’ll be a video recommending a country or a city or just Sonia taking you around and showing you the things you can do in that place.
I’ve found these videos interesting and well, informative. It’s definitely made me want to travel to more places and has told me a lot about the different cultures across the world.
Sonia’s about page says this; ‘Travel around the globe with Sonia Gil! From Milan to Miami, Sonia cracks the secret codes of the world’s coolest cities in this award-winning series. Learn new travel tips and tricks, and share your own, in Sonia’s vlog. New shows every Thursday!’
