YouTube: Ingrid’s #DIYDecember

Standard

DIY-DecemberI have recommended Ingrid Nilsen, MissGlamorazzi, on a few occasions previously. This time I’m recommending her because she is doing a DIY December series on her main channel. In these videos she does some Christmassy crafting and some Christmassy cooking every other day up in December until the 25th.

So far Ingrid has made a wreath with fairy lights, hot chocolate, a garland with rosemary and cocktails… and there’s still much more to come!

Check out her first few #DIYDecember videos below:

Beauty: Zoella’s Perfume

Standard

dsjfhjd
I am recommending Zoella’s Blissful Mistful Fragranced Body Mist.

I have very much adopted the YouTube culture of this decade, with many YouTubers bringing out books and products. Some of these include beauty products from Zoella, Tanya Burr, Fleur de Force and Ruth Crilly and stationary from Jim Chapman under the name ‘James and Friends’. I’ve not yet bought myself any of these products although I do have a few YouTuber books. Anyway, my friend bought me Zoella’s perfume for my birthday earlier this year and I have genuinely loved it.

It smells good! The perfume smells sweet and girly but don’t be mistaken, it’s not a children’s perfume,Zoella_Blissful_Mistful_45ml_1411576372_main it’s suited for young adults, although that doesn’t stop anyone who wants to wear it from wearing it of course.

It lasts forever! My birthday was in February and I kid you not, that I’ve been wearing this perfume so often, especially in the latter part of the year: I’ve been wearing it every day for a while now and there is still a third of perfume left! The size of the perfume is 45ml – well worth the money.

It’s cheap! You can find Zoella’s products at Superdrug and it tends to sell at £8 a bottle and right now (see date of post) at my local Superdrug, all of the Zoella products are on sale 3 for 2!

YouTube: Ruth Crilly ‘A Model Recommends’

Standard

05e65b56-058a-4a8d-9582-97fdc46dcb20_seven_hundred Today I’m recommending model and YouTuber Ruth Crilly. Ruth has ‘been an international fashion model for over ten years’. Her YouTube channel, A Model Recommends, contains beauty, style and lifestyle videos. She posts make-up tutorials, hauls, monthly favourites and vlog style videos on a regular basis. Recently Ruth had a baby who can be seen in her vlogs and baby related reviews, products and videos have been seen throughout Ruth’s more recent videos.ruthcrilly3-730x534

I really enjoy Ruth’s videos, especially her vlogs, since it’s really interesting to follow a model around and hear her hints and tips. Additionally Ruth is a really nice, down to earth woman who is committed to giving honest reviews and information. Here are some of Ruth’s videos:

Enjoy!

Other: 5 Significant Places (TAG)

Standard

I’m doing ‘The Significant Places Tag’ as created by Actor and YouTuber Jonathan Vickers. To see his video, click here. The reason why I’m doing this tag is 1. It’s a great idea and 2. To enter Jonny’s competition that he mentioned in his latest video (click here).

kkjjI recently moved to Sheffield to study at one of the universities here. I’ve only been here little over a month but the point of the tag is to suggest my most significant places where I live.

Place Number One: The Peace Gardens (Image left)

According to the internet (see my source here) the Peace Gardens ‘are an award-winning public space situated along Pinstone Street’.

When I was first finding my way around Sheffield I found The Peace Gardens and I was captivated by them. It is extremely pretty and calming and something I was not expecting to find in the middle of the city. It’s also situated in front of a beautiful, grand, old building which makes me love it even more.

I just want to visit the gardens whenever I get the chance whether I go to read, go for a walk, go to have a picnic, anything and I especially can’t wait to see it during the summer.

Place Number Two: The City Centre (Image right)sdsdf

Every city has one but I love Sheffield’s City Centre. Like you’d expect it has loads of shops but it is incredibly pretty. I love pretty buildings (as you may have gathered) and Sheffield has a mixture of old and new buildings, a mix of ancient with modern, and I find this brilliant. It is so beautiful and I love looking around in this area and showing people around who have come to visit me,dgddfgs such as friends and family.

Place Number Three: The Hubs

This building, known as The Hubs, or the Kettles due to its design, is my Student’s Union. Again, the building is really interesting. As you can see from the images (left), it is composed of four ‘kettle’ like structures, each a ‘pod’ inside. On the bottom floor, there’s the bar, the shop/café and the student union’s offices. Upstairs you have the common room, the ‘stage’ and the advice centre. The reason why I like this place is firstly due to its atmosphere. It’s a friendly place to be since you’re surroundedRed_Lion_Sheffield by people like yourself and people who understand the student lifestyle. Additionally, it’s the place where I meet up with my Society, the Harmonies, which I have been really enjoying. It’s therefore the place where I took a leap and tried something new and made some new friends.

Place Number Four: The Red Lion Pub (Image right)

Very simply, this is a nice, quiet local’s pub located in the middle of many of my university buildings. It’s where I met a close friend of mine who I see almost every day now, and it’s the source of good memories during my fresher’s week – where it all started.

Place Number Five: Sheffield Hallam University (Image left)

4186295025The university had to be part of my significant places tag since it’s the reason why I moved to Sheffield. It’s the reason I decided to move out from my parents house and the reason I tore myself from that comfort zone to begin the multitude of challenges that comes with moving to a new city and being a student. I haven’t regretted it yet, so that must be good. I’m also really enjoying my course here at Hallam as a Media Student.

So that’s it and while I don’t know about too much of Sheffield yet, I am really enjoying the atmosphere and the beauty of this city and I can’t wait to embark on the next three years of exploring this place and in studying for my degree, which without the aim of getting, I may have never lived in Sheffield and may have never gotten the chance to explore what this city has to offer.

Hope you enjoyed,

Book: The Glam Guide by FleurDeForce

Standard

812wXX2k9+LYouTube and the YouTube culture has increased dramatically in the last two years with many popular YouTubers being accepted into mainstream entertainment. With this has come the opportunity for many individuals on the platform to write and publish their own books in conjunction to their channels.

Now being a fan of many YouTubers myself, I have bought and read the books of some of my favourite YouTubers. Today I’m recommending Fleur De Force’s The Glam Guide.

Fleur De Force, who I have recommended on my blog before, is a beauty and lifestyle blogger and YouTuber online. She posts videos on beauty products, tutorials, reviews and fashion on her main channel, daily vlogs on her second channel and recipes and cooking on her food channel which she does with her husband, Mike, in connection to Sainsbury’s.20150406_124010

From this, she decided to write a book with the main purpose to inform and teach people about make-up and her recommended techniques and tips. The Glam Guide goes through beauty, hair, fashion, travel, health and fitness, life, love, YouTube and blogging and is very much the epitome of Fleur and her presence online.

Having an interest in beauty is pretty much necessary as a reason to pick up the book but The Glam Guide offers a lot more than that. It includes first date advice, confidence tips and motiv54db5507ec92dation; it includes recipes for juices and smoothies and a section on dreams and what they mean. All of this was deeply interesting to me and I really enjoyed reading it. Additionally, being a massive fan of Fleur I enjoyed seeing her voice throughout and especially reading the note to her subscribers at the very end of the book.

I saw myself reaching for the book at every opportunity that I could. Part of this was because of Fleur’s voice throughout but also the overall care and attention that this book has been privy to throughout its making is just so evident and it means so much more to read it. I just think it is beautifully laid out and has incredible illustrations.

I hope you check out Fleur and her channels and if The Glam Guide appeals to you, that you check that out too!
